Can you still set up a tent if the elastic shock cords inside the poles are Broken?
Its a four person dome tent and the poles clip on and you dont have to feed the poles through any sleeves.
Yes you can. The tension from the tent holds the poles together in their sleeve, it is just more difficult to set up the tent. Some sporting goods stores, or even maybe Walmart/Target sell repair kits for the poles shock cords......The kits normally come with a few section of the pole and lengths of the elastic shock cord. But to answer your question, yes, even with the shock cord broken you can set up your tent, just assemble the poles as normally and attempt to assemble, you will have one pop-out here and there while trying to assemble the tent, but once the tent is all set up, they will stay put.
