Light Kit to Ceiling Fixture Conversion?
Can I convert a light kit for a ceiling fan to a ceiling light fixture? Does anyone know how?
I helped my father do the conversion once. A ceiling light fixture, fan fixture, or light/fan combo are all going to use the same contacts. You may need access to your attic in order to unscrew the fixture from above. Whatever new fixture you purchase will probably come with its own faceplace to sit flush against the ceiling, but you will need to double-check this.
When you purchase the new fixture, I would recommend asking someone where you are purchasing it (like at Home Depot) if that particular fixture requires any other connectors in order to make the conversion.
